This is the newly constructed Line 5 of Phase TWO of Air Grouse Mountain ziplines in Vancouver, British Columbia, spanning from Dam Mountain to The Peak of Grouse Mountain. Today I was fortunate enough to go with a group of media people touring Vancouver in preparation for the 2010 Olympics to check out the two newest, and longest lines. This line is not yet opened to the public but will do so very soon.

We took a trip with Adrenaline Zipline Adventure Tours http://www.adrenalinezip.com
This tour has 8 different ziplines, suspension bridges, an ATV ride up the hills of Sooke with loads and loads of fun overlooking the Sooke area. Located about 30 minutes from downtown Victoria and only 10 minutes from downtown Sooke, it’s a perfect destination for an afternoon of fun.
The longest of the runs is 1000 feet long and is approx. 150 feet off the forest floor while the fastest zipline has you screaming toward the end around 70 kilometers an hour.
The guides are knowledgeable, fun and explain how to make the most whizzing down the lines.
Just one of the many exciting and awesome things to do in the Sooke Region.

Riding the zipline over Robson Street during the olympics. Is a 6 hour wait worth the 18 second ride?

Marc-oliver of Ziptrek informed me that the zip-line will stay up and stay free for a while after the olympics!! Thanks Marc! I was in line for about 8 hours to get on this thing. it was free okay? and it is definitely in a unique location. I don’t know of any other urban location ziplines off the top of my head. It was neat to zip over a crowd and among city buildings. felt a little like spiderman, batman, or jack bauer cuz they’d do **** like that.

GET THOSE 3D GLASSES READY KIDDOS!
David and I arrive in Vancouver in ultra style, with awesome 3D zipline footage from the free zipline they’ve set up in downtown Vancouver! We check out the sea wall, the downtown zipline, and CityLive.
I like this video because it seems to imply David and I exist in a totally separate universe than the other mobile explorers, which is not true in the slightest – it just came out that way.
